West Plains Bank and Trust Company now offers full-service banking at its Houston branch, 6783 U.S. 63, Suite 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The location first opened as a Loan Production Office in January 2021 and, after receiving approval from the State of Missouri and FDIC, began offering retail banking services on June 4.

Man charged with assault of Houston police officer

A West Plains man faces felony charges and is jailed on $500,000 bond after assaulting a Houston Police Department officer Thursday at a local business. Clayton M. Payne, 40, of 505 Porter Wagoner Boulevard in West Plains, is charged with third-degree assault – special victim (a class D felony) and resisting arrest (a class E felony). He was charged Friday.
