Carson Wentz to have surgery, could be out until late October, plus Bills might be eyeing a move to Texas

We're barely two days into August and the NFL has already hit us over the head with some big news: The Wentz Wagon has a flat tire. Welcome to the Monday edition of the Pick Six Newsletter where we will be talking about Carson Wentz and the fact that he's going to have to have surgery on his injured foot. We'll also be talking about how I now have to go back to the drawing board because the Colts were my dark horse team to get to the Super Bowl this year out of the AFC. You can't be my dark horse team if you have broken hoof and that's what Wentz is dealing with.

Eric Wood returns to Buffalo Bills radio broadcasts as they head back on the road

With COVID-19 restrictions in place in Western New York and a global pandemic, the Buffalo Bills’ radio broadcasts looked (sounded?) different in 2020. John Murphy called games — home and away — from the booth at Bills Stadium with a wide-angle TV view helping with road games. Color analyst Eric Wood was replaced by Steve Tasker, as well, since Tasker lives in Western New York and wouldn’t have to quarantine for two weeks before every game like Wood, who lives near Louisville.

Pegulas’ initial proposal asks for 100% taxpayer-funded stadium for Buffalo Bills

When Kim and Terry Pegula purchased the Buffalo Bills, we knew the next question was going to be when the team was going to build a new stadium. For at least seven years, the NFL has been poking and prodding trying to get a new facility for New York State’s only NFL franchise. With a looming deadline of an expiring lease in 2023, the sides have begun to talk about replacing, not renovating, the team’s home now called Highmark Stadium.
