Man Dies at Schuyler County Marina After Medical Emergency

WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) -- Watkins Glen Police say a man died after suffering a medical emergency, and was recovered from the water at a local marina. Police say they received a call around 4:30PM for a man unresponsive in the water, under a dock at the South Seneca Marina. When emergency crews arrived on scene, they determined the man was deceased, and the Watkins Glen Fire Department removed his body from the water.

A Corning man was sentenced to 11 years in state prison Monday, bringing a close to a series of arrests on charges including assault, burglary and intimidating a witness. Kyle J. Horton, 21, pleaded guilty in Steuben County Court to first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, grand larceny, intimidating a witness, and several other charges prior to being sentenced Monday by Steuben County Judge Patrick F. McAllister.

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – Half a dozen inmates were reportedly involved in a fight at the Elmira Correctional Facility, leaving several officers injured.
