TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS)– The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help to locate a potential suspect. The man pictured above is wanted for questioning about an incident that happened at Lowe’s. For anyone with information can contact the Tazewell Sheriff’s Office at 276-988-0654 ext. 0704. About 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, state Senator Randy Smith had a polite letter delivered to Gov. Jim Justice, suggesting it would be best for the governor to resign. By 4:13 p.m., Smith received a response in his email. The letter signed by the governor didn’t address the issues Smith had raised. Instead, it suggested Smith was nursing a grudge that his grown son, R. Scott Smith, had not been named earlier this year to the board of the West Virginia Economic Development Agency.

Home team: Bluefield State athletes move in to new housing at former BRMC

BLUEFIELD — A former hospital was alive Thursday with hustle and bustle as college athletes moved into newly-renovated dorm rooms that once housed patients. Bluefield State College athletes pushing carts and carrying boxes loaded with belongings were the first students to move into the new residence hall established at the former Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Bluefield State announced plans in December 2020 to purchase the facility and use a large part of it for dormitory and classroom facilities. The emergency room and adjoining medical facilities remain open.
