Gas leak in Neenah removes residents from their homes early Friday

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – A gas leak in the City of Neenah evacuated around 24 individuals from a neighborhood on Friday morning. According to a release, around 9:30 a.m., the Neenah-Menasha Fire and Rescue was sent to the 1300 Block of Breezewood Lane for a report of a gas leak.

Green Lake Co. deputies use drones and K-9 unit to locate suspect of domestic disturbance in Kingston

GREEN LAKE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – On June 30, a ‘Code Red’ message was sent out just after midnight in the Village of Kingston and local deputies have released why. According to a release, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident on Vine Street to locate the suspect of a domestic disturbance who had fled the scene on foot. Deputies say that when they were at the victim’s house, the suspect came back to the scene and then fled once again.

UW Oshkosh marching band may be smaller than expected, include non-UWO students

The Titan Thunder Marching Band that takes the field this fall may be much smaller than expected, and some members may not even be Titans. The band was initially projected to step off with 100 members, but UW Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt said in an interview in May that membership may be significantly lower.

Fossum, Janet M.

Janet M. Fossum, age 64, of Waupaca, WI, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI. She was born August 23, 1957 in Ashland, WI; daughter of Clarence and Mary (Nelson) Gregoire. On May 26, 1979, Janet married Gary Fossum in Ashland and together they raised two wonderful children. They moved from Ashland to Waupaca in 1997 where she started working at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, first as a CNA and then as their full-time beautician. Janet had a talent for crafts and could knit, crochet or sew just about anything. She will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends.

UWO PreCollege Programs give teens a taste of college classes, dorms and dining

The majority of students taking advantage of University of Wisconsin Oshkosh PreCollege Programs are the first in their families to explore college as an option. Besides taking in courses in mathematics and English, high school students in a recent UWO program completed classes in 3D printing and mechatronics, environmental engineering and water science, and “The Internet of Things.”
