Fireworks, rain or shine at Rock The Red

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – The City of Alexandria will hold the annual Rock the Red celebration starting at 5 p.m. Saturday night in downtown Alexandria. The current weather forecast calls for the possibility of rain on Saturday. Fireworks are planned to display rain or shine. According to the city, torrential downpour and lightning are the events only inhibitors. The Alexandria Riverfront Amphitheater seating area will be open for spectators to watch the fireworks.

RPSO Makes Arrest In Fentanyl Overdose

In the early months of 2022, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office launched an an investigation into a fentanyl related overdose death that occurred in the Pineville area. Through their investigation, Brian Dewayne Allen was identified as the alleged dealer of the fentanyl which lead to the overdose. RADE Agents continued investigating Allen’s involvement in distribution and were able to acquire arrest warrants for Distribution of CDS II (fentanyl).
