BRENTWOOD, Calif. - The coroner on Monday released the identities of the three women killed when an Amtrak train slammed into their car in Brentwood. Authorities said Mercedes Regalado, 50, of Antioch; Maria Nieves, 27, and Julia Mondragon, 40, both of Dixon, died Sunday after the commuter train smashed into their Honda Civic that was crossing the railroad tracks.

Authorities say an adult male has died as a result of the fire. No other detail has immediately been released.

An Amtrak train passing through an intersection without crossing gates in rural Brentwood, California, collided with a passenger vehicle, killing three people and causing major injuries to two others on Sunday, according to officials.

The Antioch Police Department have released preliminary information on a series of shooting that occurred over the weekend in the City of Antioch. There was a shooting on June 24 at 8:37 pm. Victim was at home with her young children when she heard shots from the area of 7-11 (Buchanan Rd/ Gentrytown Dr). An upstairs window to their home was later discovered to be broken and officers located a bullet inside a closet to the home. Investigation is ongoing.
