Bemidji Police respond to attempted abduction

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Bemidji Police were dispatched at 6:25pm on Sunday evening to Cameron Park for a report of an attempted abduction. Two juvenile females told police they were walking down the paved entrance road into the park when they were approached by a younger male who asked them to walk into the woods to look at a snake.

Bemidji Police Investigate Attempted Abudction Of Juvenile Girls

(Bemidji, MN) -- Bemidji Police are investigating an attempted abduction at Cameron Park on Sunday. Officers were called to the scene and spoke with two juvenile girls who said they were walking down a paved entrance to the park when they were approached by a man who asked them to walk into the woods to look at a snake. As the juveniles spoke with him they became nervous and began to walk away. He followed them and at one point wrapped his arm around one of the females and attempted to pick her up. Both juveniles started to scream which caused the male to let go and run away from the area.

A woman driving home in Minnesota recently captured an incredible photo of an unusual cloud formation that looked like a stormy seascape in the sky. Theresa Birgin Lucas of Bemidji was on her way home on June 18th after visiting family at a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Her daughter was concerned about a storm brewing to the north in the direction Lucas was headed, so Lucas decide to send a photo to reassure her daughter.

Bemidji Police Report Attempted Abduction in Cameron Park, Searching for Suspect

The Bemidji Police Department reported an abduction attempt in Cameron Park at 6:25 P.M. yesterday. According to Chief of Police Mike Mastin, two juvenile females were walking on the paved entrance to Cameron Park when they encountered a lone male. The suspect approached the two girls and asked them to look at a snake in the woods. The juveniles reportedly became nervous while talking with him and started to walk away. The stranger put his arm around one of the females at one point. Upon attempting to pick her up, both girls screamed. The screams caused the suspect to let go of the girl and run away to the northwest of Cameron Park.
