One killed in crash of stolen car near Killeen

The Department of Public Safety reports that a man killed in a Thursday evening crash of a car on I-14 was driving a car that had been stolen just moments before. DPS Sgt Bryan Washko says the crash occurred about 6:45 p.m. on I-14 right near the Bell/Coryell County line.

Killeen police catch multiple burglary suspects

A local man identified as Ernest Allen Blevins Jr. was arraigned on Sept. 1 with burglary of a building. Blevins and two other men were taken into custody after photos of the suspects leaving the residence in question were given to the police on April 23. Justice of the peace Bill Cooke set Blevins’ bail at $50,000. Information on the other two men has not been released.

Bell County grand jury indicts Heights man on two armed robbery charges in a year

A Harker Heights man was indicted on a felony charge after he allegedly beat and robbed a woman in June, leading to his second indictment on a robbery charge this year. A Bell County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Travis Jarella Foy, 51, on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated robbery. On Jan. 20, Foy was indicted on an aggravated robbery charge after police said he injured a man while stealing the man’s vehicle at a Killeen gas station last year. In an unrelated case, he was indicted on Oct. 13 on a felony charge of evading arrest with a vehicle related to a July 29 incident in Bell County.

Cove Woman allegedly assaulted hospital worker after being discharged

A Copperas Cove woman, identified as 18-year-old Heaven Roberts, was arraigned Wednesday with assault of an emergency medical services personnel. On Tuesday, Roberts was admitted as a patient to the AdventHealth-Central Texas in Killeen, the arrest affidavit said. Nurses escorted her to a room for treatment. An off-duty police officer who was working at the hospital reported hearing a disturbance coming from the room and entered to find staff restraining Roberts, the arrest affidavit said.

Copperas Cove police are still investigating a hit-and-run collision from last Saturday that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital, with another driver fleeing the scene. Lt.
