Columbus, Neb., PD Receive Grant Funding for Police Robot
(TNS) — Columbus Police Department officials said they hope a new robot will help protect first responders in certain emergency situations. During its regular meeting May 16, the Columbus City Council gave the greenlight to accept a $65,720 grant from the Nebraska Crime Commission for the purchase of an Avatar III robot. The funds are available from federal COVID dollars, and the grant will completely cover the cost of the robot.

2022 Memorial Day Services
• Memorial Day services will be held at the Plainfield Cemetery west of Bradshaw on May 30 at 10 a.m. • A Memorial Day service will be held at the Exeter Cemetery on Monday, May 30, at 10 a.m. The welcome will be given by Mark Beethe from Post 218. The Exeter-Milligan Band will perform and the invocation will be by Rev. Murry Johnston. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Exeter-Milligan High School gym. The American Legion Auxiliary will be serving coffee and rolls at the Legion Hall following the service at the cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Nance County man arrested on drug, weapons charges
GENOA, Neb. (KSNB) - A 24-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges after a search warrant was served in Genoa Tuesday night. The Nance County Sheriff’s Office said at around 5 p.m., the sheriff’s office along with the Central Nebraska Special Response Team and Nebraska State Patrol served the warrant at 311 North Oak Street.
