Two people suffered possible injuries this week when the vehicles they were traveling in collided at a rural intersection near Chelsea in Tama County. Authorities say Ashton Hicks of Montezuma as driving north on Tama County Road V18 when she collided with a vehicle operated by Amy Demeulenaere of Chelsea, which was traveling eastbound on County Road R66.

Oxford man sentenced to federal prison for production of child pornography

OXFORD, Iowa (KCRG) - On June 22nd, a judge sentenced an Iowa man to 30 years in federal prison for production of child pornography. According to court documents, law enforcement officers responded to 33-year-old Aaron Allen Tripses’ residence for a welfare check. It was discovered that he had assaulted an adult female. Law enforcement gained information that Tripses’ phone contained evidence of sexual abuse of a minor.

Iowa man arrested in Iowa City on drug charges

An Atkins Iowa man was taken into custody Tuesday night after a traffic stop found him in possession of meth. Police stopped 49-year-old Luke Truesdell near the intersection of Bancroft and Tracy at approximately 7 o’clock because his vehicle had no plates attached. When the officer approached the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was allegedly observed, and Truesdell reportedly admitted to having a marijuana pipe inside the car.

Jewel Box Quilters Guild Exhibition Premieres at Grinnell College Museum of Art

On Tuesday, June 28, the Grinnell College Museum of Art (GCMoA) will open the Jewel Box Quilters Guild Exhibition, which will run until Saturday, August 27. This exhibition will feature quilts of all sizes, techniques, colors, and patterns, designed and quilted by local guild members. The exhibition will include 87 quilts, ranging from king-sized bed quilts to small wall hangings and pillows. Thirty-two members of the guild have submitted work. This will be the group’s first exhibition since a pattern has been set for all of us by the pandemic: isolation, stasis, discovery, emergence, and renewal.
