Fisherman Found Dead In Osage River

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A fisherman was found dead earlier this week, about 30 miles downstream from Bagnell Dam, on the Osage River. According to the Miller County Sheriff's Office, on June 16, 2021, they received a phone call from a camper at the Osage-Tavern State Wildlife Area near St. Elizabeth about a fisherman that was possibly missing. Miller County Deputies arrived on scene and found fishing gear on the bank of the Osage River and a vehicle believed to be that of the missing person.

(Crawford County) A 79-year-old female was moderately injured after a one-car accident in Crawford County Thursday afternoon. According to the highway patrol, Mary Lechner of Ballwin was traveling eastbound on I-44 near the 205 mile marker when she drove her 1999 Honda CRV off the left side of the road and overturned. She was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Phelps County man killed in one-car crash, teen passenger seriously injured

A Phelps County man is killed, and his teenage passenger seriously injured, in a one-car crash in Phelps County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says James Bunton, 28, of Duke, was driving down County Road 5240 Wednesday afternoon. Troopers say Bunton ran off the left side of the road and hit a ditch, causing his car to go airborne. The car overturned and hit a fence, throwing Bunton from the car. Bunton was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Alleyiha Dunham, 19, of Newburg, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
