Theresa Maria Richardson, age 62, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may go to Effingham Humane Society, or the donor’s choice.

Gary Joseph Beck, age 66, of Effingham, Illinois passed away at 1: 40 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Watson Baptist Church with a 3 hour visitation prior to service. Kent Robinson will be officiating. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Watson Baptist Church, or the donor’s choice.

Area fireworks displays planned for the Fourth of July weekend

The annual Vandalia fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 2, at the Vandalia Lake.
