Depression and suicide risk in youth is on the rise. Mental health screening and treatment are available to all Midland youth. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that 15% of U.S. children ages 12-17 had a major depressive episode, 37% had persistent sadness or hopelessness, and 19% seriously considered suicide in the last year. Nearly 10% had ADHD, anxiety, depression, or other mental or behavior problems.
