Mifflinburg man allegedly points gun at woman's head, strangles her

Mifflinburg, Pa. — A man in Union County allegedly held a firearm to a woman’s head as he attempted to strangle her. On April 21, Shane A. Murray, 36, of Mifflinburg, got into an argument with the woman at a home in West Buffalo Township. The woman told police the argument began over food and it quickly escalated into a physical fight, according to Trooper George Aguirre of the Milton State Police.

Allenwood -- Yvonne M. Waring, 69, of Allenwood died Friday, May 13, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born September 19, 1952 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen (McNamee) Koser. On April 7, 1973, she married Thomas Waring, who survives. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage.

James Edward Jordan

Williamsport -- James Edward Jordan, 78, formerly of Williamsport, passed away on May 12, 2022 at Heritage Springs Memory Care in Lewisburg. Jim was born on July 6, 1943 to Edward S. and Betsy Clark Jordan in Upper Darby, Pa. He graduated from Drexel Hill High School in 1961. He then attended Kutztown State College (Now Kutztown University) until 1964 when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served active duty until 1966 when he was honorably discharged. It was at Kutztown where he met his future wife Cora Lynn Kane whom he married on April 16, 1966. For most of his career, he was a financial manager for Keeler-Hoff Supply Co. in Williamsport until his retirement in 1999.
