PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Bethel Park School District is mourning a beloved teacher.The district announced Tuesday that Bethel Park High School social studies teacher Jon Gentile has died. "Jon was an excellent teacher and coach and he was an incredibly well-respected and beloved member of the high school and middle school staff," the district said in a statement."We were heartbroken to learn of Jon's untimely passing and we are all still processing this devastating loss," Bethel Park Assistant Superintendent Zeb Jansante said in a statement. "Jon epitomized the spirit of Bethel Park in everything he did and he made an enormous difference in the lives of his current and past students and student-athletes."He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him."No cause of death was announced.The district said administrators, counselors and social workers are available for all students and staff. 

ARNOLD, Pa. (KDKA) — One person was injured after a shooting in Westmoreland County.Officials said the shooting happened Tuesday night on Horne Boulevard in Arnold. One person was taken to a local hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.No word on any arrests. 

Officers said that the body was found on Sharon Bedford Road shortly before 6 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police was then asked to investigate the incident.

PENN HILLS (KDKA) - A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was shot in the chest. According to Allegheny County Police, just before midnight on Tuesday, police were called to the scene of a reported shooting in Penn Hills in the 400 block of Hershey Road. Once they arrived, they found a 34-year-old man who had been shot in the chest. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh Public Schools will operate on a modified lockdown on Wednesday as an added precautionary measure.The district made the decision after the deadly shooting at an elementary school in Texas on Tuesday. "Only persons with a prescheduled appointment will be permitted to enter any facility during the modified lockdown.
