Aliquippa welcomes first downtown laundromat in decades

ALIQUIPPA – A pair of Beaver County entrepreneurs with a devotion to Aliquippa have opened the city’s first downtown laundromat in decades. Aliquippa Wash n' Fold is the town’s first such business in at least 30 years, said founders Brian Cox and Zabriawn Smith. Both men were children the last time Aliquippa had a laundry facility for public use.

Rain Hits Butler Hard To Start The Morning

After a sprinkle here and there to begin Tuesday morning, the skies opened up around 9 a.m. and gave the area some much-needed rain. The summer so far has been about an inch behind the average precipitation for this time of year. This morning’s showers also brought some thunder and lightning with it as well.

PennDOT: Sunflower Road to close until late August for drainage improvement work

NEW SEWICKLEY TWP. — Motorists traveling in Beaver County will be unable to travel along a large part of Route 68 starting Wednesday morning. PennDOT has announced a portion of Sunflower Road will continuously close to traffic at 7 a.m. on July 6. Until late August, drivers will need to follow a detour as crews conduct drainage improvement work along the roadway.

Accident at busy Aliquippa Intersection Thursday Evening

(Aliquippa, Pa.) Beaver County 9-1-1 reported that Aliquippa Police and fire departments and Medic-Rescue responded to a 2 vehicle accident at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Mill Street and Golf Course Road. Beaver County pushes to overcome opioid epidemic

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — It’s hard to find someone who hasn’t been touched by the opioid epidemic. When you dive into the statistics, the numbers keep rising. “We are having between 60-64 deaths every year. In Beaver County we are having 700 overdoses a year. Those numbers are rising from fetanyl coming through an open border and the overprescription of oxytocin back in the 90s,” said Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier.
