Parking for University faculty, staff, students during Bloomington Gold

Beginning Wednesday, June 8, 2022, preparations will begin for the Bloomington Gold car show that will run on campus June 10-11. . “This major event will impact parking in the west campus lots near Redbird Arena and Horton Fieldhouse, and north campus lots near the Bone Student Center,” said Associate Director of Parking and Transportation Adam Loscar.  “Several lots in these areas will be reserved exclusively for Bloomington Gold events, others will be posted as public parking for the events.” Loscar noted affected parking areas will be posted with the temporary changes.

Not guilty plea entered for D87 board member facing DUI charges

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A not guilty plea has been entered for a Bloomington District 87 School Board Member facing four felony charges. May 27, 2022 – Patrick “PJ” Maloney, a registered nurse in the surgery unit at Decatur Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for April. Maloney, of Decatur, recently cared for a young college student. A recent college graduate himself, Maloney bonded with the patient and offered comfort and assurance. The patient’s mother wrote to Decatur Memorial Hospital to nominate Maloney for recognition.

Illinois gets commitment from transfer forward Matthew Mayer

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois got its second transfer of the spring on Friday, bolstering its wing depth and adding length. Former Baylor wing Matthew Mayer committed to the Illini on his Instagram page Friday, giving the team another player with size at 6-foot-9. Mayer was a top-100 recruit in the 2018 class, and averaged 9.8 points while starting 33 games for the Bears last season. He chose Illinois over North Carolina, Memphis and Texas Tech.
