UPDATE: Suspect identified after 18-wheeler-standoff on Friday

ARCHER COUNTY, Texas (TNN) - Texas DPS released the identity of the suspect who led multiple agencies on a chase Friday. Kelly Cearley of Springtown, Texas was identified as the driver of the 18-wheeler which failed to stop for reckless driving. Cearley reportedly fled multiple agencies through several counties and waited hours before surrendering.

Records: Lubbock man accused of killing father had past charges for family violence

Court records show a pattern of violence alleged against a Lubbock man accused of killing his father before he was shot and killed by Baylor County deputies. Officials said Monday that Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes investigators are still piecing together the events that led to the Friday night shooting that killed 56-year-old Russell Coats at his home in the 6400 block of County Road 7415.

BAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (TNN) - A man accused of homicide in Lubbock County is dead after shots were fired in Baylor County. Texas DPS Sgt. Dan Buesing said law enforcement officials in Baylor County located 34-year-old Chase Coats and attempted to detain him. Coats then shot at the officers, who returned fire. Coats was shot and died at the scene.
