Woman dies at Horsheshoe Lake in Woodland

WOODLAND, WA (KPTV) – Clark-Cowlitz Fire and Rescue said a woman died at Horseshoe Lake in Woodland on Friday evening. Crews were called out on a possible drowning around 7:15 p.m. and when they got there they say witnesses had pulled a woman, in her 60’s, out of the lake. They performed CPR while they waited for paramedics who also performed life-saving measures when they arrived on scene.

Portland police seize gun and drugs on welfare check call, two arrested

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – Portland police say a large amount of drugs and money were seized while officers were conducting a welfare check on a vehicle on Tuesday. At 11:06 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check call on two individuals partially conscious in a still running vehicle on West Burnside Street and Southwest 20th Avenue. As the officers approached, they could see the handle of a pistol in the front waistband of the driver. The passenger attempted to grab the pistol from the driver. Officers drew their firearms and ordered the passenger to drop the gun. She complied and both suspects were taken into custody safely.

Clark County deputy used force before being shot and killed

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Clark County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jeremy Brown used force before he was shot and killed last Friday, the Vancouver Police Department said. The department’s Friday news release offered no details about how or what Brown did. But because he used force, even though no one was killed or injured because of it, the investigation into his death was transitioned to the SW Washington Independent Investigative Response Team, led by Vancouver PD.

PORTLAND, Ore.–A man was shot at a strip club in SE Portland early this morning. This happened at Shimmers Gentlemen’s Club at 8000 Southeast Foster Road. Police says the man was shot in the leg and was sent to the hospital. Shots were fired inside the club, and then the gunfire spilled outside into the parking lot. Officers even found bullet holes in a home across the street. About 40 people were in the club at the time . Employees say a woman pulled a gun out of her bra and fired a couple of shots through a bathroom door. She went outside and continued to fire her gun, another person returned fire.

Foot chase ends in arrest of wanted man in SE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A wanted man was arrested after a police chase in Southeast Portland, officers said. Officers responded to the 13200 block of SE Division Street at about 11 p.m. after receiving reports that two people were seen stripping a car in a parking lot. They tried to take 28-year-old Hugo Diaz-Barajas of Vancouver into custody but he resisted and ran away, the Portland Police Bureau said.

Portland protest suspect ID’d as May homicide victim

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man who was killed at a transient camp in Northeast Portland in late May was publicly identified Friday by Portland police. Joseph Robert Sipe died from blunt and sharp force trauma in the attack on May 25. His body was found when police were called to the camp at NE 78th Avenue and Schuyler Street.

Victim identified in NE Portland homicide investigation

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – Portland police say the victim has been identified in connection with a homicide investigation dating back to May. On May 25, police initiated a death investigation at a transient camp at Northeast 78th Avenue and Northeast Schuyler Street. Officers had been dispatched there on a welfare check at about 5:08 p.m. and asked for detectives when they found 24-year-old Joseph Robert Sipe dead. His cause of death was homicide by blunt and sharp force trauma.

Masks now required in all state buildings in Oregon
