Ice cream!

June is dairy month, so it seems like an excellent reason to enjoy ice cream with a bit more regularity than usual. And, in 1984, President Ronald Reagan decided July should be National Ice Cream Month, with the third Sunday of the month being National Ice Cream Day. As such, it seems perfectly reasonable that June’s increased ice cream consumption should obviously be continued thorough next month as well.

Pet of the Week: Meet Ruby

Ruby is about 5 years old and is searching for her forever home. She would do best in a home with no cats. She seems to do well with other dogs. Ruby also would do best in a home with older children. She is a very independent girl. She will be spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, flea treated, dewormed, heart worm tested, rabies vaccinated and microchipped prior to going home. She will also go home with her 2022 dog license. If you think Ruby would be a good addition to your family, stop by the Humane Society Serving Crawford County at 3590 Ohio 98, Bucyrus, to visit and fill out an adoption application. Call 419-562-9149 with questions. Today is: International Body Piercing Day

International Body Piercing Day is celebrated by the piercing and modification communities. It not only celebrates body piercing but celebrates Jim Ward, "the granddaddy of the modern body piercing movement," on the anniversary of his birth. It aims to continue Ward's legacy of piercing education and promoting safety standards in the industry. The creator of the day is not known, but some sources say it was started by one of Ward's friends. For many, getting a body piercing is an important part of the day, and body piercers and tattooists sometimes celebrate with client events, special promotions, and discounted or free services. Walkable Wonders: The Poignon Project and Healing Vines

We’re nearing the end of June, and summer is well and truly here (in case the recent heat wave didn’t convince you!). When I was growing up, one of my favorite summer pastimes was spending the afternoons crafting and drawing with my grandma, Betty Lucretia Stultz. My grandma is a very cool person – the only daughter of one of the Depression-era Junior Home Kids, she earned a full ride to art school when she graduated high school, and still draws and paints today. She always made the time to keep me engaged and art-ing around. The organizations I’m targeting today are some that I know she’ll enjoy as much as I do!
