BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - A Randolph County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle hauling hay shortly before the hay burst into flames, the agency said. Sunday afternoon, Deputy Wolfe saw a truck and trailer hauling a load of round bale hay that was smoking on Harrison Ave. across from Scottie’s restaurant.

On the afternoon of July 3, Deputy Wolfe with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office observed a truck and trailer hauling a load of round bale hay that appeared to be smoking while patrolling along North Randolph Avenue.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - A man was arrested on suspicion of trying to solicit a teen for sex after a fireworks show in Elkins, authorities said. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said 19-year-old Garrett Zirkle was arrested Saturday by officers during a sting where they say he planned to meet a teen for sex.

Elkins currently has just one community pool, the YMCA, however the Randolph County Commissioners and the Elks Lodge #1135 is looking to change that soon.

KERANS — Gates opened at 3 p.m. this past Saturday, June 25, at the Elkins Raceway in Kerans, West Virginia as fans came out to the track in droves for an extra special night of gripping dirt-track. The scene at the raceway had a certain of air emotional gravity as the 2022 Elkins Raceway Wall of Legends inductees were in attendance for their ceremony, the fireworks display and the Richard Skidmore Memorial Super Lates Division race. The track opened early to allow fans of all ages to meet the track’s legendary guests of honor and join them for a celebratory dinner with the legends before the official 2022 Elkins Raceway Wall of Legends ceremony got underway. Following the induction ceremony, the youth mini-mod racers hit the track around 6:30 p.m. followed by the bigger cars an hour later around 7:30 p.m.
