Officials with the Kentucky State Police are currently asking for the public’s assistance with an ongoing missing person investigation. Post 9 was contacted on May 12th, concerning a missing Floyd County man. The man in question is 54-year-old Gordon McKinney, of Harold. He was last seen on May 9th, in the Harold Community.

3 Big Sandy USP employees indicted for civil rights violations

LONDON, Ky (WSAZ) - Three Bureau of Prisons employees of the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy were indicted Thursday for federal civil rights violations. A federal grand jury sitting in London, Ky., returned an indictment charging the following individuals: Samuel J. Patrick, 41, of West Van Lear, Ky.; Clinton L. Pauley, 40, of Ironton, Ohio; and Kevin C. Pearce, Jr., 37, of Inez, Ky. The defendants have been charged with violating an individual’s rights under the color of law and of falsifying records to impede an investigation.

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) - A man’s body was found Wednesday in the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River in Prestonsburg, the Floyd County coroner said. The body was discovered around 3:45 p.m. in the Riverside Drive area, and the coroner pronounced the man dead. He said the victim had been dead for quite some time.
