Disturbance at a conference in Moorhead

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Moorhead police Tuesday night, briefly arrested a woman, in what was described as a large disturbance at Moorhead’s Courtyard By Marriott. That’s where a conference was being held on opposing a controversial education theory. When police got there, they say there were several isolated arguments that they tried to diffuse. Vanessa Renee Clark from Fargo was cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and then let go. Others could face charges.

Police Respond to Critical Race Theory Conference

(Moorhead, MN) – Tensions grew high Tuesday afternoon at an event on Critical Race Theory at one Moorhead hotel. This after several individuals in attendance were being disruptive. Moorhead Police responded to the scene, and at least one member of the apparent protest group was detained.. Moorhead Police said, in a statement, 35-year-old Vanessa Renee Clark, of Fargo, was cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and released from the scene. Authorities say a report is being sent to the Moorhead City Attorney's office for review for potential charges for others.

Suspect At Large After Apparent Police Chase

(Moorhead, MN) -- A suspect on the loose this morning after police in Moorhead chase an apparent stolen vehicle. This happened around 2:00am when authorities tried to stop the car in question near 8th Street South and 30th Ave South.. The car then led officers on a pursuit, and ultimately broke off the chase. They later caught up with the vehicle in an area near 20th Street South. K-9 units were spotted searching the area but no suspects were found.

Police say an officer tried to pull over a driver in an area near 8th St. and 30th Ave. South Wednesday morning on suspicion that one of the occupants has felony warrants. The driver took off. A certain amount of fanfare occurs when a weather station breaks a daily temperature record. Some records, however, are less impressive than others. For example, there are certain summer records for Fargo-Moorhead that are less than impressive and would be easily broken should some warm weather happen along that day. One such day is June 8. The record high is a measly 93 degrees. This is the coolest record high on the books for June. Another easy target is July 3. The hottest July 3 was 95 degrees in 1949. All of the Fargo-Moorhead daily record highs from July 15-31 are in the 100s save two. The hottest July 23 was 97 degrees in 1894 and the hottest July 24 was 99 degrees in 1940.
