Deloris Roberts

Deloris Ann Roberts, 69, of Beacon, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, at her home. Deloris “Dee” Roberts, daughter of Henry Carl and Janet (Smith) Noble, was born on June 7, 1953, in Battle Creek, MI. Dee grew up around Vicksburg, MI, and was a 1971 graduate of the Vicksburg High School. Dee was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jerry Roberts, on May 6, 1972. Mendon, MI, was the location of the wedding and starting point of their lifelong love and devotion to one another.

Anna “Pauline” Wilson

A visitation for Anna “Pauline” Wilson, age 94, of Bussey, will be held on Saturday, October 8th, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church of Bussey. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M., also at the church. Burial will take place at the Bussey Cemetery. Following services, a luncheon will be held at the church. Memorials may be given in Pauline’s memory to the United Methodist Church of Bussey, Bussey Comm. Library or Greenlawn Cemetery Assoc. Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Pauline’s family with arrangements.

Judi C. (In’t Veld) Dingeman

Graveside Services for Judi C. (In’t Veld) Dingeman, 84, of Pella will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 1:30pm at The t’ Lam Cemetery in Pella. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00pm at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. Memorials can be given to the charity of your choice. Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jerry Dickerson

Jerry Dickerson, 78, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, at his home in Oskaloosa. Jerry Ray Dickerson, son of Raymond Abraham and Hazel Mae (Breuklander) Dickerson, was born March 1, 1944, in Oskaloosa. Jerry grew up in Oskaloosa and attended Oskaloosa schools. His first employment was building pole barns with Edwards & Campbell; he worked at that job for 13 years. He then operated a bulldozer for Mich Coal Company for six years, and in 1974 was hired by Kaiser Corporation, where he operated a bulldozer for another six years. In 1980, Jerry was hired by Mahaska County Road Maintenance Department; he again operated heavy equipment, and for the last ten years with the department, he was the road foreman. In 2000 he retired from the department because of health concerns.

Ray Junior Riley

Ray Junior Riley, age 76, entered into rest after a courageous fight with cancer on September 28, 2022, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty Missouri. He was born, June 23, 1946, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to William Ray and Rosemary Yeoman Riley. Ray enlisted in the Air Force in the fall of 1964....

Graveside services for John & Phyllis Vander Wert will be held at 1:30pm, October 8th, at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. The Garden Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Vernon Terlouw, 90

Vernon Benjamin Terlouw passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell at the age of 90. Visitation, funeral service, and luncheon took place at Lynnville Friends Church on Wednesday, Oct. 5, followed by interment at Adamson Grove Pioneer Cemetery near Newton. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial gifts to your choice of charitable organization.

Bill Bolen, 86

Bill Bolen, 86, of Montezuma, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 29, 2022, at UnityPoint Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation will begin after noon Thursday, Oct. 6, at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Blue and White Athletic Department or the Montezuma Fire Department.

Laurie Thompson

Laurie Thompson, 49, of University Park, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her home. Laurie Ann Thompson, daughter of John Rex and Linda LuEllen (Sudbrock) Thompson, was born July 10, 1973, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was raised in Oskaloosa and was a 1992 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. As a youngster, she was involved in 4-H, which she really enjoyed. Her first job was at Hardee’s at age 16; after graduating, she was employed at various places, including The Oskaloosa Herald, Oskaloosa Care Center and Pella McDonalds.
