WISCONSIN RAPIDS – One person is dead following a motorcycle crash in the city of Nekoosa. “On June 22, 2022 at approximately 10:45 p.m., emergency services responded to a one vehicle, single rider motorcycle crash in the city of Nekoosa,” Nekoosa Police Chief Shawn Woods said in a release.

The Green Bay Rockers waited until the ninth inning to reach the scoreboard but it was too late as they dropped the game to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 7-2. Dolores Lillian Yach of Stevens Point passed away peacefully at Dimensions Living, a senior living center, under the care of Heartland Hospice, on June 25, 2022. She was born on June 17, 1927, to Joseph and Lillian (Lapinski) DeMares in Chicago, Ill. Lillian passed away on October 4, 1931, in Chicago when Dolores was only four years old. Joseph remarried Helen Check, in 1932, and they resided in Stevens Point.

The Green Bay Rockers held off one final rally to beat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Saturday night 5-4. Brenda Sue Gibbs, age 60, of Weyauwega, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 18, 1961, daughter of the late Walter and Marilyn (Brogaard) Banicki. Brenda attended school in the Weyauwega-Fremont School District. She enjoyed being a cook a number of years at the Waupaca Truck Stop. She then worked as a cashier at Festival Foods in New London for over 20 years. Brenda was currently working at Piggly Wiggly in Waupaca as a closing Manager. She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Waupaca and loved to share the gospel message. She gave everything without asking for anything in return.
