–The Emerald Ash Borer, which was first discovered in Iowa around 2010, has possibly been found in Kossuth County for the first time. Durran Watts is a tree care specialist with Grassmasters in Algona, and he tells KLGA News they believe what they found at a site west of Algona, is the invasive insect.

CEYLON MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER SLEEPY EYE CRASH

A Ceylon man faces several charges after he was involved in a crash in Sleepy Eye Friday. Kenneth Sanz faces two gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI charges and misdemeanor proof of insurance and open bottle charges. Authorities say they had received a report of a small black car in the ditch near the Sleepy Eye Golf Club. A couple of minutes later, a crash occurred. Authorities say Sanz rear-ended a vehicle, then tried to back up and hit a semi. Police say they found a half-empty vodka bottle in the car and there was no insurance on the car. Sanz admitted to having four vodka drinks and a preliminary breath test registered a point-248 alcohol content. Sanz was arrested for DUI. He was taken to detox in new Ulm with no hold on him. He is set to appear in court July 19 at 8:30 am.

Closed lanes on I-90 to temporarily reopen

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The eastbound and westbound lanes on I-90 between Sherburn and Fairmont that were closed for construction are reopening temporarily. Construction on I-90 between Sherburn and Fairmont began on May 9. Since then, traffic has been reduced to a single lane in the eastbound lanes with westbound lanes also being closed off during construction.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Jorge Polanco drove in three runs in his first game back from the injured list and rookie Josh Winder pitched six stellar innings as the Minnesota Twins earned a day-night doubleheader split with a 6-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians. Amed Rosario’s clutch two-run single in the eighth inning rallied Cleveland to a 3-2 win in the opener, snapping the Guardians’ five-game losing streak. Polanco came off an IL stint for lower back tightness and cracked a two-run homer off rookie Konnor Pilkington as the Twins restored their lead in the AL Central to three games over the Guardians. Winder didn’t allow a run in six innings. Byron Buxton and José Miranda homered in the second game for Minnesota.

Winnebago Industries completes 1000+ mile road trip with new electric RV

FOREST CITY — Winnebago Industries earlier this month completed a more than 1300-mile journey with their new all-electric zero emission motorhome, the first known trip over 1000 miles by an all-electric RV. The “e-RV” was introduced back in January at the Florida RV Super Show by the company’s Advanced Technology Group as a fully functional, all-electric concept vehicle.

House fire in Blue Earth displaces 2 families

A house fire in Blue Earth on Saturday, June 18, resulted in no injuries, but did displace two families. The fire call came in at 6:08 p.m. on Saturday. A duplex at 401 S. Galbraith Street in Blue Earth had the southwest side fully engulfed in flames and the fire was spreading to the attic of the home when firefighters arrived.
