BALTIMORE -- — Dusty Baker has been around long enough to know what it takes for a team to get on a lengthy winning streak. After watching Zack Greinke stymie the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night for Houston's ninth straight victory, Baker was asked to explain the reason behind the Astros' most successful run since the 2019 season.

The Orioles are finally calling up long-awaited pitcher Mickey Jannis, a fan favorite in Baltimore for his unique story. Jannis becomes the only active knuckleballer in baseball, throwing the rare, unpredictable pitch. Jannis also becomes one of the oldest players in franchise history to make his Major League debut, which he will do at 33 years old.

It’s amazing how long the Orioles’ front office has been unable to build a competent offense in terms of on-base percentage. As of this morning, the Birds .299 OBP ranks fourth-worst in the majors. Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 9 vs. Gwinnett (Braves) Stripers 3 - Game 1. Ryan McKenna led the Norfolk offense in the first of a double dip. The centerfielder launched his fifth home run of the season, walked, and scored two runs on the day. Ramon Urías recorded the only other multi-hit afternoon, smacking two doubles in this one. J.C.
