Mancini hopes to remain with Orioles despite trade deadline talks

What Trey Mancini has done during the 2021 MLB season is nothing short of incredible. Slashing .265/.343/.478 with 14 home runs would be productive in any season, but with Mancini just more than a year removed from his colon cancer diagnosis, it's been remarkable. “I’m basically treating like I would...

Like years past, the 2021 Orioles continue to struggle with plate patience

It’s amazing how long the Orioles’ front office has been unable to build a competent offense in terms of on-base percentage. As of this morning, the Birds .299 OBP ranks fourth-worst in the majors. It’s important to note the lowly .235 batting average contributing to that OBP, but at the same time, they are tied with Boston for the fewest walks in all of baseball (199).

Mickey Jannis, a 33-year-old rookie for the Orioles, threw 62 knuckleballs in his MLB debut on Thursday night. Why it matters: They were the first knuckleballs thrown by a big-league pitcher since July 13, 2019, a span of roughly 1 million pitches. The knuckler in all its glory... The big...

Thursday Bird Droppings: The Orioles hit the road to try to stop the dang losing streak

Do you feel a chill in here? Oh, no, I guess that’s just the Orioles. They are in a cold, dark place perhaps more suitable for aging certain types of cheese than anything else. Unfortunately, the Orioles are not cheesemongers. They are a baseball team, and for the last two months, they have really sucked. Wednesday’s latest loss was another shellacking by the Astros. Check out Alex’s recap of the game for some not-so-lovely totals.
