3 from Plainview killed, several injured after head-on crash south of Abilene

Three people from Plainview, including a 7-year-old girl, were killed in fiery head-on crash that left several others injured Sunday evening in Runnels County. The crash was reported about 10:19 p.m. on State Highway 153 about six miles west of Winters or about 40 miles south of Abilene, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Three People Killed in Fiery High Speed Head-on Crash

WINTERS, TX – Three people were killed Sunday night following a head-on crash between a Tahoe and a Ford Edge near Winters, TX. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Jun. 13 at around 10:20 p.m., troopers with the Texas DPS were dispatched to SH-153, six miles west of Winters, for the report of a major crash.

RUNNELS COUNTY, Texas — Two adults and a child died in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night on State Highway 153, six miles west of Winters. A preliminary crash reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety said an SUV, driven by Francisco J. Galvan Trevino of San Antonio, was traveling east on SH 153, while an SUV, driven by Marisa B. Ramos of Plainview, was traveling west.

WINTERS, Texas — A 7-year-old girl is among three who were killed at a fiery crash west of Winters Sunday night. Francisco Galvan Trevino, 51, of San Antonio was driving eastbound in a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe when he attempted to pass several vehicles and crashed head on with a 2020 Ford Edge carrying five people, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The incident occurred on Highway 153, six miles west of Winters at approximately 10:19pm Sunday night, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
