Bison released at Belwin Conservancy

AFTON — Each spring since 2008, NorthStar Bison (Cameron, Wisconsin) has released a group of juvenile males onto Belwin’s prairie. This year’s herd will reside at Belwin through early autumn. The public are welcome to observe the herd from Belwin’s bison platform and viewing area, located at 15551 Division St., in Afton.

Four Wolves Have Escaped A Minnesota Wildlife Center Near The Twin Cities

Anoka County residents and those in surrounding Washington and Chisago County might want to keep their eyes open for the 3 remaining escaped wolves from the Stacy, Minnesota Wildlife Science Center, as 4 had escaped last week in what some think was a mission to find a wolf pup that was taken to be bottle-fed. One of the wolves was found already, sadly having been hit by a passing vehicle. That wolf had sustained a broken back and was euthanized.

Fourth-graders Mallory Myster and Haylee Johnson, both dog-lovers, began a project last year to raise funds for Ares. The two went door to door and set up a stand at Angel’s Pet World to sell various items they made.
