Kenneth Paul Dopkins of Osceola and formerly of River Falls, died Nov. 19, 2020. He was 73. Ken was born Sept. 28, 1947, in River Falls to parents Marvin and Delores (Weschcke) Dopkins. Ken graduated from River Falls High School where he played basketball, and was a member of the golf team. He went on to further his education at the 916 Vo-Tech School, and serve his country in the Army Reserve.

Elaine M. Norberg, 84, Prairie Farm, Wis., died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at her home. She was born July 24, 1936, to Archie and Ella (Solfest) Klevgard at Whitehall. Elaine grew up in Bennett Valley, Gilmanton, on the Klevgard family farm. After graduating from school, she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and worked at a bank briefly before returning home to help on the farm.

Josh was welcomed into this world on June 27, 1981 and was received into God’s arms on June 10, 2021. He attended Stillwater schools, graduating in 2000. Josh was a talented athlete and his passion for soccer and basketball contributed to Stillwater Pony success and brought many wonderful memories. Josh continued to play and coach and passed on his love of sports and life with his sons, Avery and Ty. Josh will be greatly missed by his loving parents, Dee Henry-Boeck and step-father, Charlie and father, Brad MacDonald; caring brother, Brandon and his daughters, Olivia and Laney. Many special family and friends will also remember Josh for his kindness and beautiful smile and heart. Private services will be held. Memorials are preferred to the family.

Amery memories of Badgers Head Coach John Powless

John Powless, men's basketball head coach at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1969 to 1976, died at his Madison home on May 20. He was 88 years old. Powless is remembered in the Amery area as head coach of the Badgers when former Warrior star Al Rudd played for him during the 1975-76 and 1977-78 seasons. It seems like yesterday that Rudd scored 28 against Michigan as a freshman starter for the Badgers.

Police say the juvenile reported the male suspect as being in their late 20s with dark wavy hair in a bun. They were wearing an oversized green t-shirt and basketball shorts.
