Santa Rosa County's interim county attorney resigns, search underway for permanent replacement

Santa Rosa County's interim attorney Greg Stewart resigned Wednesday, leaving the county scrambling to find permanent legal representation before the end of August. Stewart, who works with Tallahassee law firm Nabors, Giblin and Nickerson, has served as the county's main interim attorney since December 2020. Other attorneys from the same firm have also served the Board of County Commissioners, per the firm's agreement with the county.

Fishing class, first of its kind, to be offered at the new Destin High School

Not only will it be a first for Destin when the long-awaited Destin High School opens its doors on Aug. 10, but it will be the first school in Florida to have a fishing class. About 60 people showed up Tuesday night at Destin High to hear about the fishing class to be taught by Capt. Mike Parker, who recently sold his charter boat Silver King after 20 years in the business.
