Perfect Game to build new headquarters in Cedar Park, ending Hutto deal

Two years after announcing an $800 million development in Hutto, baseball scouting company Perfect Game announced it would build its new headquarters in Cedar Park instead. Cedar Park City Council approved three economic development and land agreements Sept. 23 for the project. The Perfect Game complex is expected to generate $20 million in revenue for Cedar Park over 10 years from lease payments, sales tax and hotel occupancy tax, according to the city.

Austin school board hikes taxes, plans to send half of revenue back to the state

The Austin school board unanimously approved Thursday a tax rate estimated to increase taxes for homeowners by 2%. The new rate of $1.0617 is lower than last year's and the district's lowest in 20 years, but it will translate to an average tax increase of $276.12 for the average home valued at $472,823, according to district estimates shared earlier this month.
