Soloman Stellfox, Jr., 89, of Desoto, Texas, and formerly of South Renovo, died following a short illness on July 2, 2022, with family by his side. Born in Pottsville, Pa., on Nov. 27, 1932, he was the son of Soloman Stellfox and Clara Bertha (Rodgers) Stellfox and moved with the family to the lower end of South Renovo in 1938, where the Stellfox Pond Scenic Trail and Natural Area is currently located.

Firefighters were called out for a fire in Port Allegany early Tuesday morning. Reports say that an alarm was pulled around 3:45 AM for an abandoned trailer on Lower Grimes Road, about half a mile from Route 6. Some reports say that the fire may have been a controlled burn.

4 injured in fire at Genesee Township apartment complex

GENESEE TWP., MI – Four people were injured during a fire at an apartment complex in Genesee Township early Friday morning. Fire crews responded around 5 a.m. Friday, July 1 to Bristol Court Apartments off North Saginaw Road. Upon arriving at the scene, crews saw flames through the roof of the complex, according to Mt. Morris Fire Chief James Young.
