1 person dies in single-car crash in Salem

SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) – The Salem Police Department said one person died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning. Police said at about 6 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 5700 block of Gaffin Road Southeast. They learned a mid-size SUV was traveling eastbound on Gaffin Road when the driver could not negotiate a slight bend in the road. The SUV went off the road and hit a tree.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man was killed overnight when a vehicle struck the tent he was in alongside I-205, according to Portland police. The crash was reported around 3:20 a.m. on northbound I-205 at the Southeast Powell Boulevard offramp. Officers arrived to find a crashed Honda sedan "that appeared to have left the roadway" and struck the occupied tent.

Man dies in shooting after being driven to officer on separate call in N Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – The Portland Police Bureau said a man died after being shot and then driven to an officer on an unrelated call on Saturday night. Police said just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, an officer was on a car accident call at North Marine Drive and North Force Avenue when a car pulled up and was told that someone had been shot. The officer saw a man who was seriously hurt. The officer began CPR on the victim to try to save his life. Paramedics arrived and continued lifesaving measures, but the man died at the scene.

When they arrived, they found a Honda sedan that appeared to have left the road and crashed into an occupied tent. The man inside the tent died.
