CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The mayor of southwest suburban Orland Park has lashed out against more mask-wearing requirements and said people should be living normal lives. Mayor Keith Pekau said he has not agreed with the way Gov. J.B. Pritzker has handled the pandemic. Even before the governor’s newest mask order for schools and among some state workers, Pekau was critical of the new masking trend.

Elburn Police: Infant’s July 30 Death Was Homicide

The Elburn Police Department said today (Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021) that the cause of an infant’s July 30 death has been categorized as a homicide. According to a news release issued by Elburn Police Chief Nick Sikora, officers and paramedics were dispatched at around 7:33 a.m. Friday, July 30, to an address in the 800 block of Kindberg Court for a report of an infant with difficulty breathing.

Authorities tight-lipped about Elburn baby's death

Authorities remain tight-lipped about the death of 2-month-old Kasen Kaitharath of Elburn, who a medical examiner says died of injuries due to abuse. Elburn police on Wednesday declined to say who Kasen's parents are or who called 911 last week to report Kasen was having trouble breathing. The Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District referred inquires to the police department.
