Winchester man sentenced to six years in federal prison for ‘molly’ distribution

A Winchester man who distributed Eutylone, commonly marketed by drug dealers as “molly” or “ecstasy,” was sentenced last week to six years in federal prison. Lamont Antoine Parson, 40, pled guilty in November to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute Eutylone and one count of possessing with the intent to distribute Eutylone.

Spotted lanternfly quarantine zone expanding to more Virginia localities

With no natural enemies in the U.S., spotted lanternflies, Lycorma delicatula, can cause extensive damage to vines, crops and trees. Virginia’s Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine currently includes the city of Winchester and the counties of Clarke, Warren and Frederick. In early July, the quarantine zone will be expanded to the cities of Buena Vista, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Lynchburg, Manassas, Staunton and Waynesboro, and Albemarle, Augusta, Carroll, Page, Prince William, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Wythe counties.

Cumberland Police Make Saturday Arrests

On Saturday, June 25, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Sara Boschi. The warrant was issued as a result of an incident that occurred on this date at approximately 7:48 AM. Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Baltimore Avenue for a disturbance. Police contacted the residents and learned that Sara Boschi had allegedly assaulted one of the subjects at the house. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. After further investigation, Boschi was taken for an evaluation. The investigating officer filed for charges against Boschi at District Court and an arrest warrant was issued. Boschi was later arrested on the warrant and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
