Kissingbower Road will be closed between White Road and Leeway Landing to install storm drainage. Closure will begin Tuesday August 10 and will conclude Friday August 13 at 5 o'clock pm. Richmond County State Court has implemented Fresh Start 2.0 to allow individuals with a bench warrant from the Richmond County State Court will have the opportunity to resolve their case and/or remove the bench warrant without being arrested on the State Court case that led to the bench warrant. The 40 day clock associated with the No Activity for Two General Election Cycles (NGE) process has expired. All of the voters involved in the NGE process that were not updated during the 40 day period have been updated from Inactive status to Cancelled status. The NGE process removes voters from the voter registration rolls that are in an inactive status and have had no contact in two General elections. Voters that were cancelled during this process do not lose their ability to register to voter, however they would need to reregister to vote for any future elections if still eligible.

The Board of Elections will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 6:00 PM in the Beazley Community Room at the Municipal Building to hear any objections to the proposed change. Objections must be filed in writing before the time of the hearing or presented orally during the hearing. If no objection is made, the change will be adopted at that time.

On Friday, the Georgia Secretary of State mailed out over 101,000 notices to voters in the State of Georgia that have been inactive through two general elections cycles. Richmond County can expect about 2,500 notices to start hitting mail boxes this week. The full list is attached below. The Board of Elections recommends that anyone receiving this notice to complete the form and return it at their earliest convenience. The form can be used to cancel or update their registration. We encourage all voters to contact us should they have any questions regarding this matter.

Repairs and improvements on traffic signal at the intersection Reynolds Street & 9th Street (James Brown Blvd.) During this time this intersection will be treated as an All Way (4-Way) stop until maintenance and repairs are complete.

On May 3, 2021, work will begin on a pipe rehabilitation project at Lake Forest Dr. and Bransford Rd. The intersection will be closed until May 5, 2021. A detour will be in place for the duration of the construction. Expect traffic delays in this area. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.
