AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. — A Chicago, Illinois resident was injured in an Audrain County accident Friday morning. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ricardo Martinez, 29, was driving on Route CC, at Audrain Road 209, around 9:20 a.m. Friday. Another vehicle, driven by Paris, Missouri resident, Michelle A. Hollingsworth, 40, attempted to pass his vehicle. Martinez ran off the right side of the roadway, he overcorrected, returned to the roadway and struck Hollingsworth’s vehicle. Martinez was ejected through the windshield when his vehicle slid off the roadway and overturned. He was transported by Audrain County Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

An investigation is underway at an Audrain County prison after an inmate is found hanging in a shower. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Brittany Berry, 32, of Fairview, was found at the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia May 26.
