Long-time internal medicine doctor retires after 35 years

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Stormont Vail Health celebrated one of its long-tenured doctors as he heads into retirement. Dr. Scott Teeter, an internal medicine specialist, is officially retiring after 35 years with Stormont Vail Hospital. Stormont Vail assumes control of struggling Geary Co. hospital & clinics

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Geary Community Hospital and related rural health clinics are under new management. Stormont Vail Health announced Friday that the Topeka based healthcare system is under contract to “pave the way to stabilize the provision of health services in Geary County.” The agreement was approved Friday morning by the Geary Co. Commission, and previously by the Geary Community Hospital Board of Trustees.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Widespread rainfall with embedded thunderstorms continues across much of northeast Kansas this morning. The activity will become more isolated by the afternoon. With rain and clouds in the area, temperatures will be cooler today with highs in the low 80s. There is a slight chance of storms tonight, mainly for areas near and south of I-70. Sunday is forecast to be warmer with highs near 90°. Most places should be dry, but isolated showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.
