Five Cass County residents arrested in Fentanyl Distribution Case

(Council Bluffs) Five Cass County, Iowa residents were arrested on federal indictments charging Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa says the arrests are the result of a six-month investigation into a series of fentanyl overdose cases occurring in Cass and Shelby Counties. The investigation identified a fentanyl distribution network that covered Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska. The investigation into this distribution network remains ongoing.

The Fontanelle Police Department arrested 28-year-old Zakery Dean Sickles, of Fontanelle, on Wednesday on a warrant charging him with four counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree and four counts of Lascivious Acts with a Child. CASS COUNTY, Neb. — Five Cass County, Iowa, residents were arrested Friday for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, according to the Department of Justice. The five arrested on federal indictments were 19-year-old Mason Blaine Loudermilk of Atlantic, Iowa; 28-year-old Chase Daniel Jahnke of Lewis, Iowa; 26-year-old Kelsi Marie Thurman of Lewis, Iowa; 25-year-old Colby Ray Clarken of Atlantic, Iowa; and 19-year-old Collin Jacob Clarken of Atlantic, Iowa, according to court documents.

Committees selected for Red Oak engagement, housing assessment

(Red Oak) -- Efforts are underway in Red Oak to compile community input and housing needs. During its regular meeting Monday, the Red Oak City Council received an update from Red Oak Mayor Shawnna Silvius on the Community Heart and Soul and Housing Readiness Assessment programs. Silvius tells KMA News that committees have been selected for both programs. She says the housing assessment -- through the Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa State University -- will involve members from all parts of the community in identifying housing needs.

Karly Millikan went and Joey Reynolds each had three hits and two RBI. Brenna Rossell had a three hit game as well. Makenna Askeland had two hits and drove in one run. Millikan got the win in the circle with seven strikeouts. She allowed three hits.

Stanton woman arrested on warrant for Abandonment/Neglect of a Dependent Person

(Montgomery Co.) A Stanton woman turned herself in to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for Abandonment/Neglect of a Dependent Person. The Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Stormey L. Dykes was arrested at 11:48 a.m. today (Wednesday). The warrant stems from an incident in rural Stanton that occurred on March 21st. Dykes was processed at the Montgomery County Jail and released after posting 10-percent of the $10,000 bond.
