It also regularly donates to nonprofits that offer a second chance to animals rescued from unfortunate situations.

Parvo outbreak prompts closure of both Clayton County Animal Control facilities

JONESBORO — An outbreak of the parvovirus has closed both Clayton County Animal Control facilities through Oct. 6. Canine parvovirus is highly contagious and spreads through direct contact with an infected dog or by indirect with a contaminated object such as food or water bowls, collars and leashes or feces. The disease is deadly if not treated and young puppies are most susceptible to the virus.

Animals rescued, 22 people displaced from Roswell apartment fire

ROSWELL, Ga. — More than 20 people were displaced and several animals needed to be rescued after a fire broke out on Sunday night in Roswell. The Roswell Fire Department said it happened at the 10-unit Rosemont Apartments on Rosemont Parkway a little before 8:30 p.m. The call indicated the fire might have originated with a dryer inside an apartment.

This week on Keeping Up With King presented by Zep... I love Atlanta United match days -- and I got to attend the team's last home match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium! I held a meet-and-greet with my friends at Zep. I had a doggone great time meeting some of my fellow 17s! Everyone was so warm and generous. They gave me lots of pats and treated me nice. And our boys played pretty well! I wish they could've scored some more goals, but those stinkers from Philadelphia are pretty good at soccer.

Dunwoody going to trial over dogs barking at Camp Run-A-Mutt

DUNWOODY, Ga. — A local business is taking the City of Dunwoody to trial to defend itself against what it says is unlawful use of power by the city. In March, the City of Dunwoody and Camp Run-A-Mutt agreed to try out a new set of hours of operation to cater to a small number of nearby residents who had been complaining about the loud barking and other noise coming from the doggy day care.

Wellington, FL – September 25, 2022 – Sunday concluded the ESP Florida State Fall horse show, and along with it the Region 10 ASPCA/NHSAA Maclay Championship. The highlight of equitation competition for the week, the class will certainly be remembered by its 2022 champion Eleese Shillingford of Milton, GA, who showcased her proper form and effectiveness aboard Eleanor Rudnicki’s Simply Stated, whose barn name is ‘Apple,’ over three phases of tough competition. With her victory, Shillingford has officially earned a spot on the roster for the 2022 ASPCA Maclay National Championship, the pinnacle of equitation finals which will be held November 6 during the final day of the National Horse Show in Lexington, KY.
