WAUSAU – We can hear the music already!. The Northwoods Marching Band, made up of musicians from Wausau East, Antigo, D.C. Everest, Lakeland, Merrill, Mosinee, Northland Pines and Three Lakes high schools, will gather June 30 at Wausau East High School to receive its official invitation to participate in the 2023 Tournament of Roses Parade.

Wausau woman charged with homicide in 38-year-old man’s death

Homicide charges have been filed in connection with the February overdose death of a 38-year-old Wausau man whose body was discovered by his mother in their shared apartment. Leanna M. Wells, 41, faces a single charge of first-degree reckless homicide filed June 17 in Marathon County Circuit Court. Wells is accusing of delivering fentanyl and heroin to the man, who was also taking prescribed oxycodone, court documents show.

A part of the park was contaminated by an old industrial user. The latest recommendation plan is to dig up the soil, truck it away to a hazardous waste site the accepts dioxin contaminants, and replace it with clean fill. Price tag: unknown. Who pays? Merrill man crashes during police pursuit

TOWN OF PINE RIVER - A police pursuit on Sunday ended with a Merrill man in custody. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the incident began with a traffic stop for a registration violation initiated by Merrill Police.
