Second driver dies following head-on collision on Interstate 72 east of Springfield

A second driver in a Wednesday night head-on collision on Interstate 72 has died. Zachary R. Wilham, 27, of Decatur, died one day after his car collided with one containing Lucas S. Otto, 20, of Arthur, a pitcher for the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes summer collegiate baseball team. Otto had been heading home following a Wednesday night game against the Normal CornBelters.

DECATUR — Zachary Wilham, 27, of Decatur, has died as the result of injuries sustained in a a collision on Interstate 72. Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon reported that Wilham died at 12:19 p.m. Thursday in HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield. The same crash claimed the life of Lucas Otto of Arthur.
