SANDSTONE, Minn.– The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone is launching a campaign to build an upgraded food and wellness center for their big rescue cats. The Wildcat sanctuary is home to 130 recuse lions, leopards, tigers and more. In order to supply the basic daily needs of these animals, they are fundraising to remodel their current health and wellness center. The new center is nicknamed Kitu’s Kitchen, after a rescue cheetah in the facility.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office says a tip from a woman in Florida helped bring a domestic situation to end. It happened early Thursday morning, just after 3:00am. Dispatch received a call from that Florida woman, reporting she was getting text messages from a woman in Brook Park claiming she had been attacked and choked, and was being held inside the home with her attacker.

Moose Lake nurses were out picketing at the Essentia Hospital they work at Tuesday over contract disputes. Essentia bought the Moose Lake Hospital location from Mercy back on 2020, and terminated their existing contracts. And from there the nurses say it’s been a struggle to get a contract from Essentia.
