Elizabeth City man, Edenton woman facing drug charges following Kill Devil Hills traffic stop, search of hotel rooms

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrests of an Elizabeth City man and an Edenton woman for drug charges following a traffic stop in Kill Devil Hills. According to a DCSO press release, on May 5, 2022 at around 11:41 p.m., deputies working the A District conducted a traffic stop near Ocean Bay Blvd. and Virginia Dare Trail in Kill Devil Hills.

Mary Lou Veal, left, from the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Gen. James Moore Chapter, introduced guest speaker Chris Grimes during the chapter's April meeting. In addition to being an American Revolutionary War reenactor, Grimes is also a historical interpreter, ordained minister and member of the Edenton Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Grimes presented his program, Medicine During the American Revolution, and displayed his personal collection of medical instruments from the time period. Woodland Heights claims I-SS girls soccer title

The Woodland Heights Middle girls soccer team defeated Brawley I.B. Middle 1-0 in the Iredell-Statesville Schools Middle School championship game May 9 at North Iredell High. Bella Robillard scored the lone goal on an assist from Katie Walters. Jenna Troutman earned the shutout in goal for Woodland Heights (12-2).
