4 taken to hospital after motorcycle crash in DeKalb County

DeKalb County, Ind. (WANE) — A Friday night crash with a motorcycle and a car put everyone involved in the hospital. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said Justin England, 37, from Auburn, was traveling west in the 1700 block of County Road 56 “at a high rate of speed.”

Letter to the Editor

I have read with interest the two articles in the Sturgis Journal regarding Sturgis Hospital. The Tuesday May 24 article, while not overly optimistic, did not give a hint that bankruptcy would be on the table less than a month later. While the June article does have a plan going forward, it depends on a loan from the city and a large grant to carry the facility to the end of the year when it would become an emergency facility and be eligible for outside funds. If the loan from the city is not approved then the Hospital would file for bankruptcy.

JONESVILLE — The Coldwater Redbirds 16U Mickey Mantle team battled to a hard fought split with Jonesville Thursday night, taking game one of the twin bill 5-3 before falling in the nightcap 4-3. Fire destroys George Road barn and contents

A fire Thursday afternoon at the Thomas Milliman farm destroyed a two-story wood hip roof barn and its contents. A Bronson firefighter on his way home, just past the barn at 812 George in Noble Township, saw nothing. Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber said a few minutes later when he was paged out for the fire at 3:16 p.m. He returned to find the barn fully engulfed in flames.
