Yavapai Silent Witness Offers Reward for Info Leading to an Arrest in Paulden Arson Case

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in identifying a suspect or suspects involved in an arson in the Paulden area. On Thursday, June 3, 2021 just before 5:30 P.M., a YCSO deputy responded to the area of Grand Canyon Road in Paulden for a fire. The deputy arrived 3 minutes later and attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher but had little effect. Firefighters from Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) arrived a few minutes later. Thankfully, the firefighters were able put out the blaze within the hour.

Yavapai Silent Witness offering reward for information regarding arson case in Paulden

YCSO is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect or suspects involved in an arson in the Paulden area. Silent Witness Director Chris Wilson says on Thursday night, a deputy responded to the area of Grand Canyon Road for a fire. The deputy attempted to extinguish the fire but was unsuccessful. Central Arizona Fire arrived a few minutes later and extinguished the blaze. Wilson says the investigation revealed the fire had been started intentionally. The suspect or suspects had also constructed a homemade incendiary device which failed. Witnesses in the area reported seeing two juveniles on a red and white quad in the area at the time of the fire. Wilson says anyone with information is asked to contact YCSO or Yavapai Silent Witness. You could be eligible for a $300-cash reward.

Ash Fork Man Arrested Following Road Rage Incident

Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested an Ash Fork man for allegedly pointing a gun at a car during a road rage incident Monday. Officials say Robert Burgess Jr. was driving a water truck on Hwy. 64 north of Williams when the driver of another vehicle tried to pass. Burgess allegedly pointed a gun at the car that also contained three young children. A fire chief reportedly witnessed him brandishing the firearm again during a stop.

On May 14, 2021 deputies observed a vehicle traveling in the Kaibab Estates West area, north of Ash Fork, matching the description of an individual wanted for an arrest warrant out of Williams Justice Court. Wanted Ash Fork man caught with drugs and gun

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Ash Fork man on an outstanding warrant out of Williams Justice Court. Deputies spotted 50-year old Richard Johnson and conducted a traffic stop. Johnson was arrested on the warrant and for driving on a suspended license. While processing the vehicle, deputies located over 164-blue pills, suspected to be “M30” labeled fentanyl pills and approximately 0.9-ounces of methamphetamine. They also found a loaded .22; Johnson is a prohibited possessor due to previous felony convictions in Yavapai County.

A small plane with two passengers went down near Williams on Sunday. The victims were identified as 37- year-old Timothy Michael Gill and 38-year-old Joylani Roseann Kamalu.
