GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — One highway in Ascension Parish is getting a major upgrade after getting millions of dollars from the legislature. “The sooner they do it, the better we’ll be,” stated longtime Gonzales resident Annie Hall. Hall is ready for the improvements coming to Highway 30.

Ascension Parish Public Schools announced the appointments of eight new school leaders: Dawn Williams Alston as Principal of Bluff Middle School, Jelice Chatman as Principal of Lowery Elementary School, Karen Daigle as Principal of Galvez Primary School, Matthew Monceaux, Ed.D., as Principal of Dutchtown High School, Shawn Boudreaux as Assistant Principal of Sorrento Primary School, Shondra James, Ed.D., as Assistant Principal of Donaldsonville High School, Rebecca “Becky” Templet as Assistant Principal of Donaldsonville Primary School, and Johnathan Walker as Assistant Principal of East Ascension High School.

3 From Louisiana Arrested After Month-long Narcotics and Firearms Trafficking Investigation. Louisiana – Throughout the month of June 2022, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reported that their Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into the narcotics and firearms trafficking group known as the Blue Print Kids (“BPK”). According to EBRSO, this group was led by Ethan Hendricks, Jacquel Bellard, Marcus Elam, Quinton Rogers, and several other co-conspirators. During the investigation, agents discovered that the group was transporting large amounts of marijuana from Oregon to East Baton Rouge and Ascension Parish.

National Water Infrastructure, LLC (NWI) has filed for Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC) approval of its acquisition of Ascension Parish’s east-bank sewer treatment “assets” along with an “adjustment in rates for current and acquired systems.” PSC sanction, or non-opposition, is the final hurdle in sealing the deal worked out by between NWI and the parish, approved by Ascension’s electorate 14 months ago.
