HYANNIS – A car and motorcycle collided in Hyannis shortly before 12:30 PM Saturday. The crash happened at the intersection of West Main Street and Pitcher’s Way. The cyclist was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. Barnstable Police are investigating the cause of the crash. HYANNIS – A 68-year-old in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle on Barnstable Road this afternoon. The man had been crossing the street in his wheelchair, according to radio transmissions. CCH was placed on trauma alert. The patient was banged up but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening at the time of this report.

HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, a female motorcyclist was banged up after crashing into a black sedan yesterday afternoon on Route 132. The sedan had been allegedly making an illegal turn across Route 132 as the motorcyclist was in a second lane behind a box truck in the first lane. By the time the motorcyclist could slam on her brakes it too late and she ended up hitting the turning sedan after skidding. The driver of the sedan did not leave the scene and circled back and parked to the rear of the box truck and cooperated with police.

HYANNIS – Sunday morning – June 19, 2022 – things had seemingly quieted down after a furious overnight of car crashes in Barnstable and across the Cape, when suddenly there was cry for help from a woman reporting a man with a knife. The man was known to her but allegedly was not in his right frame of mind. Responding officers were advised the distraught man might be wanting to attempt “suicide by cop.”

HYANNIS – Service to and from the Cape Cod Gateway Airport with Southern Airways Express resumes this month. Four nonstop weekday flights between Hyannis and Nantucket Memorial Airport will be carried out by the airline as the summer officially begins, while three roundtrip flights will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

HYANNIS – A person in a wheelchair was reportedly struck by a car in Hyannis shortly before 5 PM Monday. The incident happened on Barnstable Road by the KFC/Taco Bell. The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The incident is under investigation by Barnstable Police.
